Shwaag Week Events!

Shwaag Week: The week before Thanksgiving dedicated to celebrating Social Goodness.

It’s almost here! Thanksgiving, the holiday that has us “officially” focusing on our blessings and reaching out to help others. We know that Shwaag Members are into Social Goodness, Paying it Forward, and effecting change…which also means you recognize blessings the rest of the year, too! That’s why we announced Shwaag Week on Friday! It’s the week before Thanksgiving, and we’re celebrating Social Goodness.

If this is the first you’re hearing of Shwaag Week, then you haven’t checked your email inbox lately. We’re stirring things up a little with a Shwaag offer to be truly thankful for, generous Bonus Shwaag, and a contest that highlights YOUR favorite charity!

Be generous. Be thankful. Be present…as in Fully Present in the moment. Spend time with friends, family, and loved ones this holiday season. And always remember, Team Shwaag appreciates you!!!

Honoring Our Veterans

November 11, 2010

Our troops, our veterans, our soldiers.  These heroes are the ultimate example of Social Goodness.  They give to others, often more than will ever be returned to them.  They fight everyday to defend and protect the freedom and rights of their country.  They often are asked to pay the ultimate price and lay down their lives.  And they do all of this so that we in America can enjoy things such as Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech.

On behalf of all of us at Shwaag, we honor and thank all of our Veterans.  We’ll take today to do it publicly, but we are grateful for you the other 364 days of the year, too.

Facebook Down! Now What?

September 23, 2010

When Facebook is Down, Update Your Profile Instead!

Facebook stopped working earlier today, and sent millions of users rushing to Twitter to seek social connection. When we saw the explosion of Twitter users seeking a substitute way to spend time, we wanted to help out!

Our suggestion? Take a minute to login to your Shwaag account and update the “Things I Love” section on your profile! After all, we take our cue from you! If you tell us you love it, we work on bringing it to you.

Shwaag. Doing our part to help keep your “Status Update” skills in tact while Facebook works on a solution.

Shwaag Meets Meet-Meme at SMAZ

September 13, 2010 did it again!  SMAZ 3 on September 9, 2010: a fantastic event filled with high energy people and high quality information.  Shwaag was proud to sponsor the event, where we gave away over 50 Shwaag items to lucky attendees.  One of the best parts of sponsoring an event like SMAZ is getting to meet so many Social Media people in real life.

So when Jonathan Brewer (aka @HouseOfBrew) turned in his red envelope and claimed his T-Shirt Shwaag from ASU Official Bookstores, we were happy to meet him.  But when he came back to chat later, we learned more about his new business Meet-Meme.  We thought it was such a cool business concept, we wanted to share it with all of you!  Check out this short video interview as Shwaag’s own @SOCJacki interviews @HouseOfBrew and @graphyxguy503 about the Super Cool ASU T-shirt he won, as well as this Super Cool Business!

Our Members are Champions of Social Goodness

August 24, 2010

The Shwaag movement is all about everyday people becoming Champions of Social Goodness by utilizing their social networks to spread the word about great companies doing great things. In turn, these companies not only get recognized for their amazing products and services, but their work with charities, environmental causes and within their own communities.

The generous companies we work with also give back to Shwaag members. Their contributions of 100% FREE products and services called Shwaag, is just one more way of saying “thanks” to the Shwaag community. These products and services are distributed to our members who, in turn, can choose to keep their Shwaag or Pay It Forward.

What generous companies do you know?  What companies are out there, doing good in the world?  Let us know by leaving a spread the Social Powered Goodness!

Shwaag CEO Eric Keosky-Smith at Gangplank

June 14, 2010

Have you ever wondered what went on behind the scenes that led to the birth of Shwaag(tm)?  CEO and Co-Founder Eric Keosky-Smith will be telling the story of how the desire to change the world led to the creation of Shwaag.  He and Michael Edwards were inspired to do something good, promote generosity, and give without expectations of receiving anything in return.  Of course, in order to give, one must first receive.  And so with this in mind, these two out-of-the-box thinkers but their heads together to come up with a way that they could do all of those things, but create a business out of it at the same time.

At Gangplank’s Brown Bag Lunch, you’ll be able to learn more about a shift in thinking can lead to opportunity instead of lack.  How can we bridge technology and generation gaps in business, and how has social media changed the way we relate and market?  Eric will answer these questions and much more in his speech, “Opportunities in a Time of Mass Upheaval.

Don’t miss out!  Bring your own lunch and your appetite for knowledge!

Wednesday, June 16th, 11:45am-1:00pm
